Rwnak Othman Mohammed — “Rwnak Lazyani” — is a Kurdish ceramic artist, teacher, and maker based in Sulaimani.
Born in 1966, she trained in ceramics at the Sulaimani Institute of Fine Arts and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in English (2018) from the College of Basic Education, Sulaimani University. She has been a member of the Kurdish Artists Union since 1988.
Exhibitions
Rwnak has held solo exhibitions in Sulaimani, Duhok, and Belgium, and has taken part in national and international group shows.
Her work
Her pieces combine varied styles and materials, and much of the work carries a message — the resilience of women, family and hardship, and the fragmentation of Kurdistan. Alongside her art, she has taught both art and English across different school stages.
